It's been 52 years since that first step, one small step for Neil Armstrong, one big step for humanity. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon's surface at 20:18 (EEZ) on July 20, 1969.
We know that with the development of technology, the information in the past may be wrong or incomplete. However, information such as the age of the Moon, the only satellite of the world, and how it was formed, can be updated almost every day.
The information we have about the moon may change in a few months. But the important thing is that setting foot on the Moon has opened up an endless horizon for human beings to explore space.
At this point, while technology allows us to acquire new information in our lives, it can also cause us to question at some points. Did one of them actually go to the Moon?
Allegations of lunar fraud are closely related to anti-US sentiment. Because the Apollo Project (Apollo Project, the manned Moon voyage project carried out by NASA.) was a part of the Space Race between the USA and the Soviet Union during the Cold War years and resulted in the victory of the USA.
Especially politically left-wing and nationalist right-wingers outside the USA see the Apollo Project as a symbol of US global oppression. Their anti-US sentiment, combined with the impossibility of the idea of walking on the Moon, can lead to a belief in lunar fraud. Those who argue that the moon landings are fraudulent try to support their claims with various concrete evidences. E.g; Like they were trying to create a portrait of a man going to the moon in a studio. However, no definitive proof of the validity of the claims has been presented so far.
Since the late 2000s, traces of the Apollo program on the Moon have been imaged in high-resolution photographs by the LROC spacecraft. In these photos, the traces left by the lunar modules and astronauts can be seen. In 2012, photos of the still standing flags planted on the Moon during the Apollo missions were published.
